About the author.
Marc-Allen Barker was born in Paris, France, and was later raised and educated in Cheam, England. A competitive rugby player, he graduated from Epsom College with A-Levels in English Literature, French Classics, and Business Economics.
At the age of 18, he joined the French Army and enrolled with the 1st RHP Parachute Regiment in Tarbes. After successfully earning his wings and red beret, he served as a light weapons, communications, and field combat instructor for incoming recruits. On deployment with the United Nations in Bihac, Zagreb, and Sarajevo he carried out armed protection to humanitarian aid convoys – as well as reconnaissance and surveillance missions – during the Peace Talk process.
After graduating from Loughborough University with a BA in International Business he moved to Los Angeles, CA where he currently resides with his wife and son. In addition to world travel, Marc-Allen enjoys skydiving, scuba diving, and riding his motorcycles. Like William Trevor Francis, he also enjoys his Johnnie Walker Black Label ‘rocks on the side’.
